Doug Grosch, son of Jon and Cindy Grosch of Dhahran, married Stephanie Mitchell in a fishing-themed wedding (“Hooked for Life”) in Cancun, Mexico on May 27, 2013. The wedding ceremony was performed in the all-glass, beachfront Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Chapel with a mariachi band providing the music.

Wedding activities included a Groom’s Golf Tournament (in which the groom’s team finished last), a cocktail party on the beach, and a rooftop wedding reception that lasted all night. The couple then proceeded to honeymoon on Holbox Island at Hotel Mawimbi with plenty of fishing and kayaking.

Stephanie is the daughter of Pete and Barbara Mitchell currently residing in San Antonio, a graduate of Langham Creek High School in Houston. She has a BS in Finance and Economics from Tulane University and is currently working on her MS in Finance at the University of Houston while working full time as an Olefins Marketing Representative at The Williams Companies.

Doug was born and raised in Dhahran, graduating from the Dhahran Academy International School and has a BS in GIS with a geology minor from Texas State University. After working for 5 years as a core analyst with the Core Laboratories petrophysics lab in Houston, he is currently at the University of Texas San Antonio pursuing an MS in petroleum geology.

Over 50 family and friends attended the wedding, including former Aramcons Al and Margaret Griffith and Aramco Brats Will Owen and Andrew Kochinski.

The Marriage Registration (Nikah) of Wasiqa Akhtar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rais Akhtar, with Muhammad Saif Uddin, son of the late Muhammad Meraj Uddin was held on March 27, 2014.

Mr. Rais Akhtar, Aramco ID No. 71863 is a permanent member of Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association (SAEEA), Karachi, Pakistan. He worked in Drilling and Works-Over Department, Ras Tanura from 1973 through 1985.

The ceremony took place at Pearl Banquet, Main Rashid Minhas Road, Karachi. The function and dinner was hosted by Rais Akhtar and a large number of his relatives, friends and Saudi Aramco friends were there. The ex-employees and SAEEA office holders who attended the function were:

OSMAN MUHAMMAD RIAZ MARRIES ZAINAB TAHIR

The wedding ceremony of Osman Muhammad Riaz and Zainab Tahir took place on March 01, 2014 at Qasr-e-Noor Marriage Hall in Gujrat (Punjab). The Valima reception was held on Sunday March 02, 2014 at Paradise Complex, Islamabad Expressway, Islamabad.

Osman is youngest son of Late Nasreen Riaz and Riaz ul Haque, Ex-Saudi Aramco Employee, Badge No. 71772, who worked for Drilling Workover Organization from 1973 through 2012.

Osman was born in Dhahran Hospital and brought up in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He has completed his education from Saudi Arabian International School (Pakistani Section), Al-Khobar as well as International Group of Schools, Dammam (formally known as Rahima Academy). He completed his graduation in Business Administration from Multimedia University, Malaysia and MBA in Finance from University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom.

The bride Zainab Tahir is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malik Nusrat Ali Tahir. Zainab completed her graduation in Commerce (B.Com) from Punjab University and currently studying LLB (Islamic Laws) in International Islamic University, Islamabad.

MUHAMMAD DANISH RIAZ MARRIES JENNA RIAZ

A reception was also held to celebrate the marriage of Muhammad Danish Riaz with Jenna Riaz. The Nikah ceremony was solemnized in Islamic Center of Northeast Florida, Inc. Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

Danish was born in Dhahran Hospital and brought up in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He completed his Higher Secondary education from Saudi Arabian International School (Pakistani Section), Al-Khobar. Danish completed his Master from University of Central Florida, USA in Electrical Engineering. Currently Danish Jenna resides in Florida, USA.

Amanda Wixted and Timothy Fitz

Amanda Wixted and Timothy Fitz chose the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, Western Cape, South Africa, as the venue for their intimate wedding ceremony on February 19, 2014.  In attendance were parents, Bo and Mimi Wixted, Steve and Laura Fitz, the bride’s brother, Brody, and the groom’s brother, Matt.

A musical duo from Cape Town, “Palm Strings,” played a spirited rendition of “The Final Countdown” as the bride and groom walked between rose petals and flickering candles in the luxurious ambience of the glass-walled Villa to recite their own vows.  Amanda chose to read a quote from Carl Sagan, which closed with the line “The sum of all our evolution, our thinking and our accomplishments is love.”

The couple honeymooned at a private safari lodge, Hoyo Hoyo, in Kruger National Park and have continued their celebration with a series of “mini-moons” as they explore their new locale in Texas.

Amanda graduated from Dhahran School in 1997 and attended Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California, before completing her degree in Computer Science at the University of Arizona.  Timothy attended high school in York, Pennsylvania, and later, the Rochester Institute of Technology. The couple is currently living in Austin, Texas, and working in technology fields so arcane as to be unintelligible to their parents, though they are happy.

Bo and Mimi Wixted worked in Dhahran and Ras Tanura from 1991 to 2012 and, now retired, split their time between South Africa and Tucson, Arizona, USA.

Jayson Colway and Khristie Worrell

Khristie N. Worrell graduated May 18, 2014 from Utica College and married Jayson Colway on May 20, 2014 in Onieda, New York.

Khristie’s parents are Keith and Levy Worrell. The family lived in Abqaiq and Udhailiyah.

The wedding ceremony of Mahrukh Kaiser Alavi and Qazi Atif Alam took place on Friday August 22, 2014 at Aero Club-Lawn “C” in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi. The Nikah Ceremony (Marriage Registration) was performed by Molana Ehteram Ul Haq Thanavi. The Valima reception was held the next day Saturday August 23, 2014 at KDA Officers Club Kashmir Road Karachi. Both the functions were well attended by many relatives and friends.

Mahrukh is the daughter of Salma and Saudi Aramco Retiree Kaiseruddin Alavi, Badge No. 73895 who worked for the Financial Accounting Department as Accounting Analyst (November 1977 thru September 2009). Kaiseruddin is a permanent member of Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association (SAEEA), Karachi, Pakistan. Qazi Atif Alam is the son of Late Qazi Saghir Alam.

Mahrukh Kaiser has completed her Masters in Business Administration while Qazi Atif Alam done his Masters in Business Administration as well and at present working with Hashoo Group as Deputy Liaison Manager in Karachi.

Farhan Hussain Siraj, son of Mohammad Siraj Uddin, married Shumaila Mustafa, daughter of Ghulam Mustafa in Karachi, Pakistan.

Farhan is the son of Mohammad Sirajuddin, Ex-Aramco Employee Badge No-73029 who worked in Dhahran from 1975 thru 1992 in the Contracting Department.

Farhan got his early education from Saudi Arabia, followed by Higher Education Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Worked for RIA Financial Services, as a Business Development Manager in United Kingdom, currently working as an Account Manager for the Multi-National Company based in Pakistan.

Shumaila Farhan, completed her studies in Pakistan and got a degree in Dental Surgery (B.D.S.).  In Canada she acquired further education in Dental Hygiene (Diploma in Dental Hygiene). She worked in Canada as a Dental Hygienist, now working as an Associate Dentist at a private Dental Specialist Clinic in Karachi, Pakistan.

The Valima Reception was held at Faysal Point Lawn in Karachi, Pakistan on December 30, 2014 and was attended by ex-Aramco employees Mr. Mohammad Abdul Mateen, Mr. Ghulam Qutubuddin Khan, Mr. Mahmood Hussain and Mr. Nisar Ahmed with their families. SAEEA wishes Farhan and Shumaila a very happy married life and a very bright future.

Lauren Yelle married Sam Mills on August 31, 2014. Sam and Lauren both work for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools where Lauren teaches 8th grade Social Studies and her husband Sam is the Director of School Administration. They live in Winston-Salem, NC and are expecting their first child in May.

Lauren is the daughter of Michael and Pamela Yelle who moved to Dhahran in 1981 and lived there for 18 years over the course of 25 years. Lauren was born in Dhahran and graduated from the Dhahran Academy.

Al & Pat Denyer announce the upcoming marriage of their granddaughter Kayla Abilez to Grant Herron on June 13 2015 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Kayla is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Political Science and Grant is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where he received his Master’s degree in Architecture.

The newlyweds will be living in Georgetown, District of Columbia.

Kayla is the daughter of Linda Abilez of Thousand Oaks, California and Grant’s parents are Rick and Kara Herron of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kayla received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University. Grant is a master’s graduate in architecture from the University of Michigan.

A reception was held later in the day at the home of Joe and Karen Neff in Camarillo, California. Over 125 family and guests attended the reception. Family members came from as far as Maryland and Utah.

The newlyweds will reside in Arlington, Virginia.
